Testimonial From a Satisfied Customer:
When my mother died in 1999, I inherited a beautiful antique carnival glass dish that had been in my family for over a hundred years. It was an iridescent gold with a multi-hued pattern of grapes and leaves and a basket weave silver finish on the back. Sadly, when I was relocating across the country, the dish was shattered in the move.
I held onto the shards, unable to bring myself to throw them away. In the back of my mind, I was hoping that something could one day come of them. Then, in a complete coincidence, I found myself in a shop in Redondo Beach, Harmony Works, where I saw some charming, whimsical little cats that prominently displayed glass shards. I spoke to Royce, one of the owners, who put me in touch with Janice. My mother was a cat lover (so am I!) and an avid collector and I knew that these cats were something she would have loved.
Janice wasn’t sure if the glass would survive her creative process, but essentially we had nothing to lose. The pieces were too shattered to ever be reassembled and worthless as they were. However, through her efforts, I now have two absolutely beautiful little kitties, one for each of my children, that have captured the beauty of the original glass, both front and back. And amazingly, each has its own personality!
Instead of passing down worthless glass shards, we now have one-of-a-kind collectors’ items that can last for further generations. My sincere thanks to this gifted artist.
